January really is the worst month. It is freezing, everyone’s ill and money’s tight. But for a lousy month at least it’s flown by. I’m looking straight ahead to Spring since it’s nearly February already!

The family are visiting in the half-term so I thought I’d better investigate what’s going on in Brighton.  Our customers have a variety of interesting events on next month – what takes your fancy?

13th Feb First up is one for the tiny dancers.  Metrodeck customer Komedia is hosting Baby Loves Disco! Real DJs, face-painting and lots of dancing make this a great community event for kids and parents.

18th and 19th Feb The Brighton Centre (owners of Steeldeck) present MODELWORLD 2011. Everything you want from a Model Exhibition including radio-controlled cars, trucks, boats and tanks; doll houses; a marine section with fishing boats and warships; Lego displays and even a train ride!

24th Feb – 6th March Steeldeck and Metrodeck customer The Brighton Pavilion present ‘Brighton’s Alternative Panto’ Dick Whittington.

And finally Maltbury will be at the BSEC show 23rd/24th Feb.  The show is vital for anyone involved in the education sector and we are looking forward to promoting our versatile staging to some new customers. See us at stand 823! Click here for more info.

I love Christmas.   I’m one of those.   I’ve been soaking Gammon in apple juice and cloves,  getting into heated debates about the huge differences between silver baubles and gold baubles and my ringtone since November has been Santa Baby.   And the best thing is I’ve been allowed to get this excited in Brighton!  This city loves Christmas!  I have yet to meet a Brighton Scrooge.  And to prove it I’ve put a fantastically festive, wonderfully wintery, sensationally seasonal (I’ll stop now) events list from our Brighton customers.

If I hadn’t booked my ticket for Ice-skating at Somerset House back in the summer The Brighton Centre (customers of our Steeldeck) is where I would be.  They are re-introducing their Ice Skating rink between 20th December to 6 January.  The rink is sponsored by Heart radio so cheesy tunes aplenty to fall over to  -  watch out for little fingers!

Owners of Metrodeck, Komedia Brighton present Rabbits, Ladders and Jars of Stars until January.  Told with beautiful puppetry and a live music score I’m certain this is a show that both adults and children will marvel at.

Steeldeck & Metrodeck customer Brighton Dome is putting on a sing-a-long Christmas concert this Friday 17th.  Oh yes oh yes oh yay!  Expect all the classic Christmas songs from O Come, All Ye Faithful’ to ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’ – (I can’t wait!).

And when Christmas is over,  see the New Year in with the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra on New Year’s Eve at 2.45pm – led by violin in traditional Viennese concert style at the Brighton Dome.

I hope you are now feeling appropriately festive, have a very Merry Christmas, keep warm and see you in the New Year!!
